One thing going on today is about a famous Twitch streamer Dr. Disrespect. His real name is Guy Beahm and he is famous for streaming himself playing various video games on a website called Twitch. He is one of the largest streamers on the website, so much so that in the beginning of the year, he signed an exclusive contract with Twitch.
Everything was fine until he was taken off the website in June. No one knew why and Beahm has even come out and said that Twitch didn't tell him why they had done it. Beahm has told fans that he is still working on sorting everything out with the streaming website.
This is kind of ridiculous in my opinion. Even though Twitch was not breaking his First Amendment rights because it is a private platform, it seems very irresponsible to just block him like that without even confirming with fans or Beahm himself the reason for doing so. The good thing is Beahm can still talk to his fans about his situation and what is going on because he has his Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Press.
