Blog #2

     The Supreme Court is an important part of the American Government and our lives as American citizens. The court has jurisdiction over all laws and checks the power of the other two branches of the government. There have been countless cases ruled by the Supreme Court that have shaped our laws and set precedents in our society.

    I think these cases are very important because they set the foundation for an understanding of what we can and can't do as Americans. Because of these cases, there is somewhere to point to when making a decision about who is right and who is wrong. 

    I also think that these cases are important to protect us from the government. Many of these cases have been against the government and it shows that we, as citizens, are not powerless. It reassures the fact that we live in a democracy.
